It is an ideal moment to appreciate the Governor of Equity, a man of vision, purpose, and transformative development in Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum.
Across every sector of his administration, Ifelodun Local Government has benefited immensely – – far more than under any previous administration.
This progress is a testament to his inclusive leadership, strategic development agenda, and commitment to ensuring that no community is left behind.
As the third largest Local Government in Kwara State, after Baruten and Kaiama, Ifelodun borders seven of the sixteen LGAs. For many years, several of its expansive lands and communities remained disconnected due to poor road networks. Today, these long-standing challenges have received unprecedented attention under Governor AbdulRazaq’s administration.
The great Ile-Ire district, once sidelined in project despite its population, political relevance, and contributions to the state, is now experiencing long-overdue development. In his first term, the Governor approved the Owode Ofaro –Alabe Road, fulfilling a major request of the people, while also constructing the bridge that connects Isin and Ifelodun in that axis.
Similarly, the Oro-Ago district, previously cut off due to the dilapidated Orisa Bridge, a narrow colonial era bridge witnessed significant relief as Governor commenced the full rehabilitation and that of the Omu-Aran – Oro-Ago Road. This intervention has shortened travel time, boosted economic activity, and restored hope to the people.
For the Oke-Ode community, the commencement of the second phase of the Ajase -Igbaja – Oke-Ode – Sagbe Road, extending from Bayero to Oke-Ode, remains one of the most celebrated achievements. This project will not only enhance mobility but also stimulate commercial growth across the region.
The Alabe–Oreke Road, Share township road the ongoing Ora Township Road further underscore the Governor’s commitment, surpassing the achievements of even an Ifelodun-born Governor by a remarkable margin.
In the area of security, every community in the Local Government has witnessed the Governor’s decisive interventions aimed at restoring peace, stability, and confidence among residents.
Education has seen significant uplift, with renovations and construction of new classrooms across all wards, provision of textbooks, reinforcement of free basic education, and improved learning environments for pupils. This reflects the Governor’s passion for quality education and human capital development.
Healthcare delivery has also improved with well-equipped facilities, upgraded infrastructure, and regular free medical outreach across the Local Government, ensuring that even remote communities enjoy access to essential health services.
While the constitution does not permit the Governor to seek a third term, the people earnestly desire continuity of this masses-friendly governance, ensuring that the gains of this administration are sustained beyond 2027.
Ifelodun Local Government deeply appreciates the Governor’s unprecedented attention and will continue to acknowledge these transformative efforts at every appropriate opportunity.
