The Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Coach Bolakale Adisa Mogaji, on 25 December 2025, demonstrated sportsmanship and cultural diplomacy in Fes, Morocco, by presenting a Super Eagles jersey to a Moroccan restaurant manager, Adnan, in appreciation of exceptional hospitality.
The gesture took place at a restaurant in the historic Medina of Fes, where Adnan serves as the manager. Coach Mogaji made the presentation after settling the bill for meals purchased at the restaurant, describing the act as a simple expression of gratitude for the warmth, professionalism, and friendliness shown to him and other Nigerian visitors.
Adnan, who expressed keen interest in the success of the Super Eagles at the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, welcomed the gesture with appreciation. He noted that many residents of Fes have been closely following Nigeria’s performances at the tournament, further underlining the shared passion for football between Moroccans and Nigerians.
In his response, Adnan thanked Coach Mogaji for the gift and described him as a “good representative of Nigeria,” praising his humility and conduct, which he said reflected positively on the country.
The exchange underscores how football continues to serve as a bridge between cultures, extending beyond competition to foster friendship, respect, and goodwill. As AFCON 2025 progresses in Morocco, such moments highlight the positive image of Nigeria and the unifying spirit of sport among host communities and visiting supporters.
