Aran-Orin Community Honours SSA to Governor AbdulRazaq with Community Development Award

The Aran-Orin Progressive Union, in collaboration with the Alaran-in-Council, has presented a Community Development Award to the Senior Special Assistant to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on New Media, Akeweje Olayinka Fafoluyi, in recognition of his contributions to grassroots development in Aran-Orin.
The award was formally presented during the Ojude Aran 2025 Festival, an annual cultural event that brings together indigenes, traditional leaders, and stakeholders of the Aran-Orin community.
Akeweje Olayinka Fafoluyi, who hails from the Ile-Olofa Compound, Aran-Orin, was honoured for initiating and supporting key community projects, including the continuation of the Light-Up Aran-Orin project, the construction of a borehole to improve access to potable water, and the ongoing construction of the AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq Corps Members’ Lodge, aimed at enhancing the welfare of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members posted to the community.
Speaking on behalf of the community, leaders of the Aran-Orin Progressive Union and members of the Alaran-in-Council described the projects as impactful interventions that have improved security, living standards, and the overall image of the town. They noted that the recognition was a reflection of the community’s appreciation for purposeful leadership and sustained engagement with local development needs.
The organisers of the Ojude Aran Festival also stated that honouring individuals who contribute meaningfully to community growth remains a core objective of the annual celebration, adding that such recognition serves as encouragement for others to support grassroots development.
The award presentation was one of the highlights of the Ojude Aran 2025 festivities, which featured cultural displays, traditional rites, and celebrations of Aran-Orin’s heritage and unity.
