Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) club Kun Khalifat FC have completed the signing of Ilorin-born striker, Owolabi Omolabi, in a move expected to strengthen the team ahead of the league’s second stanza.
Owolabi, a former Calabar Rovers FC and Crown FC forward, sealed the deal today after an impressive journey across clubs within and outside Nigeria.
The highly mobile striker began his football career in Ilorin, Kwara State, featuring for Gidado FC, a team owned by Alhaji Saliu Afase. His early promise earned him a move to Calabar Rovers FC, where he further developed his attacking prowess.
Owolabi later made an international switch to Akonangui FC of Equatorial Guinea, where he delivered outstanding numbers—9 matches, 6 goals, and 4 assists—before returning to Nigeria to sign for Crown FC this season.
Now making another significant step in his career, Owolabi joins Kun Khalifa FC after the conclusion of the NPFL first leg. The club will be banking on his experience, goal-scoring instinct, speed, and versatility as they prepare for the second leg of the campaign.
Owolabi’s arrival is expected to provide a major boost to Kun Khalifa FC’s attacking options as they aim for a strong finish this season.
