The Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Adisa Mogaji, says the Super Eagles have what it takes to defeat hosts Morocco in the semi-final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Mogaji stated this in an exclusive interview on January 12, 2026, while speaking about the highly anticipated clash between Nigeria and the Atlas Lions that will be played at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat on Wednesday 14, 2026, at 9:00 p.m. local time.
According to him, the morale and determination within the Nigerian team have been evident since the start of the tournament, giving them the strength to overcome any perceived advantage Morocco may enjoy as host nation.
“Morocco may have home advantage, but they cannot stop the spirit in the Super Eagles,” he said.
Mogaji noted that while Morocco are a strong and organised side, Nigeria have shown superior overall performance throughout the competition.
“The Atlas Lions are good, but the Super Eagles are better based on what we have seen so far in this AFCON,” he added.
He further explained that playing against a loud and passionate home crowd should not intimidate the Nigerian players, as many of them are experienced professionals who are used to such environments.
Mogaji urged the Super Eagles to remain focused, maintain their winning mentality, and approach the match with respect for the opponents but confidence in their own strength.
“If the Super Eagles keep the same spirit they started with and do not allow the home advantage to distract them, Nigeria will play in the final,” he concluded.
