Armed Forces Remembrance Day: Gov AbdulRazaq Salutes Nigeria’s Fallen Heroes, Praises Serving Personnel

Kwara State Governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, has paid glowing tribute to Nigeria’s Armed Forces as the nation marks the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.
In a statement on Monday, the Governor joined millions of Nigerians in honouring the gallantry, patriotism, and sacrifice of the country’s military personnel, both fallen and serving.
Governor AbdulRazaq hailed the “diligent and loyal service” of the armed forces whose efforts, he said, continue to keep the nation safe and united. He acknowledged the ultimate sacrifice of servicemen and women who died in the line of duty, as well as those who sustained lifelong injuries while defending the country.
“As we commemorate the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day, we celebrate the heroic courage of our servicemen who paid the supreme price and those who suffered lifelong injuries in the line of service,” he said.
The Governor also extended gratitude to officers currently on active duty across the nation’s various terrains, describing their work as “a yeoman’s job”. He praised their resilience in staying awake through difficult nights and combing thick forests to safeguard the country’s territorial integrity.
On behalf of the government and people of Kwara State, Governor AbdulRazaq expressed heartfelt felicitations to the Armed Forces on the significant occasion, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to supporting the military and all security agencies in maintaining peace and protecting lives and property.
“Our administration will continue to support the military and other security agencies in their demanding job of keeping our society peaceful and safe,” he assured.
