The Kwara Central Elders Caucus has declared its unwavering support for the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, following his emergence as the winner of the recently concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election in Kwara State ahead of the 2027 gubernatorial race.
In a statement jointly signed by the Coordinator of the caucus, Alhaji Rasaq Lawal; Chairman, Alhaji Mustapha Kobe; Secretary, Alhaji Ganiyu Alawo; and Public Relations Officer, Alhaji Suleiman Cement, the elders described the emergence of the APC candidate, popularly known as SYD, as a reflection of the confidence and trust reposed in him by party stakeholders, delegates, and members across the state.
The caucus praised Danladi-Salihu for his loyalty, consistency, leadership qualities, and dedication to the development of Kwara State, noting that his political journey and contributions to legislative stability have earned him widespread acceptance within the party and beyond.
According to the statement obtained by Just Event Online TV, the elders expressed confidence in the Speaker’s capacity to sustain and consolidate on the achievements of the administration of AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, particularly in infrastructural development, youth empowerment, human capital development, and people-oriented governance.
The group further described the APC governorship candidate as a competent and experienced leader with the political maturity needed to steer Kwara State toward greater progress and inclusive development.
Reaffirming their commitment to the APC, the Kwara Central Elders Caucus pledged total support for Danladi-Salihu and assured him of their readiness to mobilize support across the region and the state to ensure victory for the party in the 2027 governorship election.
The caucus also prayed for divine wisdom, strength, and guidance for the Speaker as he prepares for the enormous responsibility ahead.
