Rt. Hon. Engr. Salihu Yakub Danladi (SYD) has officially joined the list of governorship candidates uploaded on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Candidate Nomination Portal (ICNP) as the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Candidate for Kwara State ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
Kwara News Update gathered that the APC has commenced the nationwide digital upload of its governorship and State House of Assembly candidates to the INEC portal in line with the electoral timetable.
The exercise is giving priority to 16 incumbent APC governors seeking re-election, alongside the party’s governorship candidates in other states.
Among the incumbent governors whose names have been uploaded are Umo Eno (Akwa Ibom), Hyacinth Alia (Benue), Uba Sani (Kaduna), Abba Yusuf (Kano), Dikko Radda (Katsina), Nasir Idris (Kebbi), Umaru Bago (Niger), Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), Ahmad Aliyu (Sokoto), Agbu Kefas (Taraba), and Dauda Lawal (Zamfara).
Also featured among the APC’s first-time governorship candidates are Obafemi Hamzat (Lagos), Solomon Adeola (Ogun), Ogundu Kingsley Chinda (Rivers), Eric Opah (Abia), Mohammed Abubakar (Bauchi), Mustapha Gubio (Borno), Jamilu Gwamna (Gombe), Ahmed Aliyu Wadada (Nasarawa), Baba Malam Wali (Yobe), and Rt. Hon. Engr. Salihu Yakub Danladi (Kwara State).
The upload of Rt. Hon. Engr. Salihu Yakub Danladi’s name on the INEC Candidate Nomination Portal confirms his candidature as the APC flag bearer for the 2027 Kwara State Governorship Election.
The development comes as the APC intensifies preparations for the 2027 General Elections, with the party’s Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Department at its National Headquarters in Abuja reportedly commencing the upload process to meet INEC’s statutory deadline.
