As we all know this year’s world cup would most likely be the last one Ronaldo and Messi will be playing.
When Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi took to the stage of the 2006 World Cup aged 21 and 18 years old respectively, the world could never have imagined that the duo’s battle to be the world’s best would only just be drawing to a close 16 years later.
Messi and Ronaldo are set to make their final bow on the biggest stage of them all in Qatar, whilst their futures in European club football also look to be coming to an end.
Messi and Ronaldo have both won the Copa America and the Euro respectively but non of them has won the biggest national trophy which is the world cup.
One might say this is the final chance to know who the best is between the 2 GOATs.
Both Messi and Ronaldo have given so much to the game and it would be nice if either can lift the World Cup in Qatar.
