Week 11: Kwara Students Strengthen Coding, Data Analysis and Problem-Solving Skills
The sustained investment of the Kwara State Government in digital education is continuing to produce remarkable results as participants in the 2026 Kwara Coding and Digital Literacy Programme recorded another milestone in Week Eleven, advancing their practical skills in programming, data analysis, and database management across the sixteen local government areas of the state.
The programme, one of the flagship digital empowerment initiatives of the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, has continued to equip young Kwarans with relevant technological skills needed to compete and thrive in the rapidly evolving global digital economy.
During Week Eleven, senior students progressed with the development of a simple calculator application using Python, providing them with another opportunity to apply core programming concepts through practical learning. The project exposed learners to variables, user input and output, arithmetic and comparison operators, conditional statements, and while loops, further deepening their understanding of software development and interactive application design.
The week also featured the continuation of the Database Management module, where students were introduced to the components and various types of Database Management Systems (DBMS). The sessions laid a strong foundation for understanding how data is structured, stored, managed, and retrieved in modern digital systems, an essential skill in today’s technology-driven world.
To ensure the programme maintains high standards across all learning centres, the weekly Training of Trainers (ToT) session was held, equipping facilitators with updated instructional strategies and technical knowledge necessary for effective teaching and consistent programme delivery throughout the state.
In further demonstration of its commitment to quality assurance, another round of instructors’ evaluations was conducted during the week. The assessment exercise, which concluded on Friday, forms part of the programme’s continuous monitoring process aimed at improving performance, enhancing competency, and sharpening instructional delivery among facilitators.
The achievements recorded in Week Eleven once again reflect the programme’s commitment to providing practical, project-based learning experiences that prepare students for future academic pursuits and career opportunities in the technology sector.
