Skill Africa Founder Commends AbdulRazaq Administration’s Investment in Digital Infrastructure, Human Capital
The Senior Special Assistant to the Kwara State Governor on Digital Innovations, Hon. Kayode Ishola, has urged young people in the state to acquire relevant digital skills and position themselves to take advantage of opportunities in the rapidly expanding global technology ecosystem.
Ishola made the call on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, during the official launch of a free eight-week Digital Skills Bootcamp organised by Skill Africa.
The programme is designed to equip participants with practical skills in emerging and high-demand areas, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) Video Production, Digital Marketing and Social Media Management.
Speaking to the participants, the Governor’s aide described the initiative as an example of the impact that can be achieved when government collaborates with private organisations to develop human capital and create opportunities for young people.
“Government alone cannot do everything, but through partnerships, we can achieve great things,” Ishola said.
He noted that the global digital economy is increasingly driven by skills, competence and the ability to create value, urging the participants to see the bootcamp as an opportunity to build capabilities that can compete beyond Nigeria.
“The global digital space offers vast opportunities. In today’s economy, people care about your capacity and competence, not where you come from,” he said.
Ishola urged the beneficiaries to remain committed throughout the eight-week programme, maximise the training opportunities and begin exploring internships and other avenues through which they could gain practical industry experience.
He also disclosed that he would return at the end of the training to assess the participants’ progress and explore possible areas of further support for promising talents emerging from the programme.
Skill Africa Commends Kwara Government
Speaking virtually at the event, the Founder of Skill Africa, Mr. Daud Abiola, commended the Kwara State Government under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON for its investments in human capital development and digital infrastructure.
Abiola said Kwara State had distinguished itself as a supportive environment for digital skills development, noting that the Skill Africa bootcamp had been successfully implemented in the state five times.
“Kwara State is the only state where we have successfully conducted this bootcamp five times. That demonstrates Kwara’s innovative commitment to youth talent,” he said.
The Skill Africa founder also highlighted the state’s investment in technology infrastructure, particularly the Ilorin Innovation Hub, as well as incubation programmes aimed at supporting young innovators and entrepreneurs.
According to him, the development of digital infrastructure alongside skills and incubation programmes is contributing to the creation of an ecosystem capable of nurturing young talents and connecting them with opportunities in the global technology space.
The latest eight-week bootcamp brings together young people seeking to develop practical digital competencies and improve their prospects in employment, entrepreneurship and the increasingly competitive global digital economy.
The initiative further underscores the growing role of public-private partnerships in expanding access to digital education and creating pathways for youth participation in the technology sector.
