The Chief of Staff to the Minister of Youth Development, Hon. Mohammed Funsho Abdullahi, has declared that he has no political ambition at the moment, urging students from the Ilorin Emirate to mobilise support for the All Progressives Congress ahead of future elections.
Abdullahi made this known while receiving the Executive Council of the Ilorin Emirate Students’ Union, University of Abuja Chapter, led by its President, Mallam Abdulhameed Robiu Ghatta, during a courtesy visit to his office.
According to him, the visit rekindled memories of his days as the Public Relations Officer of the Ilorin Emirate Students’ Union, University of Ilorin Chapter, and gave him the opportunity to encourage a new generation of student leaders.
He also accepted the Union’s request to host this year’s I.E.S.U. Musabaqah (Qur’an Competition), describing the annual event as a noble initiative that promotes the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and strengthens moral values.
Speaking during the meeting, Abdullahi appreciated the students for their goodwill and support but stressed that he was not pursuing any political office.
Instead, he urged them to rally behind the APC, particularly the party’s governorship candidate in Kwara State, Rt. Hon. Saliu Rt.Hon.Engr Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He further called on the students to mobilise eligible voters across Kwara State in support of the ruling party, noting that genuine brotherhood should be reflected in backing leaders who would protect and advance the interests of the people.
Abdullahi expressed gratitude for the students’ letter of appreciation after the visit and prayed for their academic success and future leadership.
