Thanks APC Leadership After Successful Governorship Screening Exercise
The Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Engr. Salihu Yakubu Danladi, popularly known as SYD has participated in the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial screening exercise ahead of the party’s primaries for the 2027 governorship election in Kwara State.
Danladi’s participation in the screening exercise appears to have put to rest rumours circulating in some political circles that he had secretly obtained a nomination form to contest for a seat in the National Assembly, particularly the House of Representatives.
In a statement released after the screening exercise, the Speaker reaffirmed his commitment to the governorship race and expressed appreciation to the APC leadership for conducting what he described as a smooth and well-organised process.
“Today, I participated in the APC Gubernatorial screening exercise for aspirants seeking to govern our dearest state ahead of the party primaries,” he stated.
He also expressed gratitude to party supporters and residents across the state for their continued encouragement and prayers.
“I appreciate the leadership of our great party for a smooth and well-organised process. Grateful as well for the encouragement, prayers, and support from so many people across Kwara State and beyond. God will continue to guide us,” Danladi added.
Political observers believe the Speaker’s appearance at the screening exercise has further strengthened indications that he remains firmly in the governorship contest under the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
