The Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Adisa Mogaji, has urged the state’s contingent to give their best performance as they depart for the North Central zonal eliminations ahead of the National Sports Festival in Abeokuta today.
Addressing the athletes and officials before their departure, Mogaji emphasized that the zonal eliminations are crucial, as they serve as the gateway to the highly anticipated festival.
A total of 71 athletes and officials left Ilorin this morning for Jos, where they will compete in four sports—Football, Cricket, Beach Volleyball, and Volleyball—under the leadership of Director of Sports, Mallam Ibrahim Bako.
Mogaji reminded the contingent of the responsibility they carry, representing Kwara State under the leadership of the sport-loving Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. “You are going there to represent our state under the leadership of the sport-loving Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. Please represent us well so that the whole state will be proud of you,” he said.
The zonal eliminations, scheduled to take place from February 23 to 28 in Jos, Plateau State, will determine the teams and athletes that will advance to the National Sports Festival. Kwara’s contingent will be aiming for top performances across all four sports to secure their place at the festival in Abeokuta.
