Kwara State has clinched the top spot in Para-Athletics at the ongoing 2025 National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State, after an impressive medal haul that placed the state ahead of other contenders.
According to the official medal table released by the Para-Athletics Federation of Nigeria (PAFN), Kwara secured 2 Gold and 2 Silver medals, making a total of four medals to finish 1st overall.
Akwa Ibom followed in second place with 2 Gold medals, while Abia State claimed third position with 1 Gold and 2 Silver medals. Ekiti, Delta, Osun, Lagos, Adamawa, and Edo also made the medal chart with strong performances in different categories.
In total, nine states shared the honors in Para-Athletics, with 24 medals won across the board — 8 Gold, 8 Silver, and 8 Bronze.
The Para-Athletics Federation of Nigeria, under the leadership of Secretary General Aliyu O. Mohammed and Technical Director Abdulazeez A. Alli, commended the athletes for their outstanding display of resilience, skill, and determination.
Kwara’s dominance in Para-Athletics further cements its rising profile in Nigerian youth sports, with the state proving once again that it is a hub of talent and excellence.
