Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has restated his administration’s commitment to inclusive sports, assuring persons with disabilities of greater opportunities in the state’s sporting activities.
This was contained in a statement released on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, by the Press Secretary of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Saheed Abdullahi.
According to the statement, the Governor’s message was delivered by the Executive Chairman of the Sports Commission, Coach Bolakale Adisa Magaji, when he received members of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD), Kwara State Chapter, during a courtesy call in Ilorin.
Magaji explained that under Governor AbdulRazaq’s leadership, persons with disabilities have continued to feature prominently as athletes, coaches, and administrators, both locally and internationally. He praised their brilliance and resilience, adding that the Commission remains committed to supporting their aspirations.
Also present at the meeting were the Permanent Members of the Sports Commission, Alhaji Dele Abubakar Seleto (MON) and Hon. Abdullahi Yunusa Lade, who joined in receiving the visiting delegation.
The statement further noted that the Chairman of JONAPWD, Mallam Adebayo Gbadamasi, lauded the Governor for his inclusive policies while also congratulating Coach Magaji on his reappointment. He requested the Commission’s support for the forthcoming International Day of Persons with Disabilities to ensure a successful celebration.
The visit, according to the release, ended on a positive note with both parties reaffirming their commitment to strengthening disability sports and fostering inclusivity across Kwara State.
