The champions of the Independent National Baseball League, Team Kwara, have officially presented their championship trophy to the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Adisa Mogaji, on October 24, 2025, at the George Agbazika Innih Stadium, Ilorin.
The presentation followed Team Kwara’s remarkable performance at the Independent National Baseball League, which was held a few weeks earlier at the Adewole International Baseball Park, Ilorin, where they emerged overall winners, with Team Bayelsa and Team Delta finishing second and third respectively.

The event was attended by notable figures in the baseball community, including former Kwara State Baseball and Softball Chairman, Alhaji Abdullah Ibrahim, Duro Sonni, Secretary of the Association, Oloyin Bolaji Lateef, Coach Olu Ayo Kayode, and Assistant Coach Oluwadamilare Abdul Karim.

While receiving the trophy, Mallam Bolakale Adisa Mogaji congratulated the players and officials for their commitment, teamwork, and outstanding performance, describing the victory as a reflection of Kwara’s growing dominance in grassroots sports. He reaffirmed the Sports Commission’s dedication to promoting all sports disciplines in the state.
In his remarks, Alhaji Abdullah Ibrahim, the former Chairman of Baseball and Softball who accompanied the team throughout the competition, expressed profound gratitude to the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for his continued support to sports development. He also commended Mallam Bolakale Adisa Mogaji for his exemplary leadership and unwavering encouragement toward the growth of baseball and softball in the state.
In a gesture of motivation, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Digital Innovation, Hon. Ishola Kayode, who was also present alongside the Sports Commission Chairman, gifted the victorious players ₦50,000, a donation that was warmly appreciated by the team.
The achievement of Team Kwara once again underscores Kwara’s rising profile in national sports and reaffirms the state government’s commitment to nurturing young athletes and promoting excellence across all sporting disciplines.
