The Kwara State Sports Commission has congratulated five distinguished sports administrators and stakeholders from the state who were honored by the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) during its national awards ceremony held in Abuja on October 31, 2025.
Those honored include former Director of Sports, Kwara State, Alhaji Ahmed Adio; CEO and Publisher of Sportspro News, Alhaji Bayo Issa; Chairman of the Kwara State Football Association, Mallam Abdullahi Idris Musa (Turaya); Chairman of Kwara United Football Club, Mr. Kunbi Titiloye; and Director of ABS FC, High Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka (ACC).
In a congratulatory message personally signed by the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Adisa Mogaji, the Commission described the recognition as a testament to the hard work, dedication, and professional excellence of Kwara’s sports leaders who continue to project the state’s name positively at the national level.
Mallam Mogaji noted that the achievements of the awardees reflect the steady progress Kwara has made in sports development under the visionary leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, whose administration has provided an enabling environment for sports to thrive across the state.
“We are proud of these illustrious sons of Kwara whose outstanding contributions have been recognized by the national body of sports journalists. Their recognition by SWAN is not only personal but a collective victory for the Kwara sports family. It shows that our state continues to produce leaders and innovators shaping Nigerian sports,” Mogaji stated.
He further reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with stakeholders in all sporting sectors to sustain the positive momentum and ensure that Kwara remains a model of sports excellence in Nigeria.
The SWAN National Awards are organized annually to recognize individuals and institutions that have made significant contributions to sports growth and development in the country.
