Governor AbdulRazaq Delivers on Sports Promise as Offa Stadium Undergoes Massive Upgrade

The Kwara State Government, under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has begun the comprehensive rehabilitation and upgrade of the historic Olofa Stadium in Offa, marking the first major transformation of the facility in decades.
The move underscores the Governor’s enduring commitment to advancing sports infrastructure across the state, a resolve that has continued to translate into tangible projects in various sporting sectors.
The upgrade of Olofa Stadium was approved during a recent State Executive Council meeting, following which Governor AbdulRazaq directed the immediate commencement of work to ensure timely delivery.
Upon completion, the remodeled stadium will feature modern amenities, including alternative power supply, an extended spectators’ pavilion, a solar-powered borehole, water-sprinkler systems, and a lush natural grass turf built to international standards. These improvements are expected to transform the facility into a fully equipped professional sporting arena capable of hosting major competitions.
The Offa project adds to a long list of sports infrastructure revitalized under Governor AbdulRazaq’s administration — such as the Kwara State Stadium Complex, Indoor Sports Hall, Tennis Court, Baseball and Softball Arena, and the newly completed Squash Court Complex — all reflecting a strategic vision to make Kwara a hub of sporting excellence.
Residents of Offa, sports enthusiasts, and football lovers across the state have applauded the Governor for his proactive approach, describing the project as a significant morale booster for young athletes and an inspiration for increased community participation in sports.
