Kwara State squash players have expressed deep appreciation to the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Adisa Mogaji, for their unwavering support and commitment to the development of squash and other sports in the state.
The message of appreciation was conveyed through Rofiat Abdulazeez, Nigeria’s current number one female squash player, who spoke on behalf of the Kwara squash contingent participating in the ongoing 3rd John Hett Sports Foundation/PSA National Squash Championship 2025 in Lagos.
According to Rofiat, Kwara’s remarkable performance at the championship — with four of its female players advancing to the semi-finals — reflects the positive impact of the state government’s continued investment in sports development.
In her message, Rofiat wrote:
“Good afternoon sir,
I am sending this message to appreciate you on behalf of Kwara Squash. We are grateful for your support over the years and for more to come. The four of us entered the semi-final of the ongoing event here in Lagos, and this is all possible because of your dedication and commitment to squash in Kwara State.
Thank you, sir, and have a lovely day ahead.”
The quartet of Rofiat Abdulazeez, Faidat Soliu, Khadijat Abdulraheem, and Mosturai Durosinlorun all reached the semi-final stage of the competition, while Shuaib Giwa, another Kwara star, also booked his place in the men’s semi-final — confirming Kwara’s dominance at the national event.

The players extended their gratitude to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his visionary leadership and for creating an enabling environment for sports to thrive across the state. They also lauded Mallam Bolakale Adisa Mogaji for his hands-on leadership and continued encouragement to athletes, which has greatly inspired their performances.
Kwara’s strong showing in Lagos once again reinforces the state’s status as a leading force in Nigerian squash, driven by a culture of discipline, investment, and passionate leadership.
