The Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Adisa Mogaji, has commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his transformative contributions to the sports ecosystem in Kwara State over the past six years, describing the period as one of remarkable growth, inclusivity, and sustainable development.
Mogaji made this known through his representative, Mr. Haruna Tsado, Secretary of the Kwara State Sports Commission, while delivering a speech today, 18th December 2025, at the Taiwo Awoniyi Media Sports Centre, George Innih Stadium, Ilorin, during a programme organised by the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kwara State Chapter.
According to the Sports Commission boss, the AbdulRazaq administration has recorded significant strides in athlete development, sports infrastructure renewal, and community engagement, positioning sports as a critical tool for youth empowerment and social cohesion.
He noted that sustained investment in grassroots sports and talent identification has translated into improved performances by Kwara athletes at national and international competitions, while also strengthening participation at the community level.
Beyond competitive success, Mogaji emphasised that the administration has successfully built a vibrant sports culture that promotes discipline, inclusiveness, and national pride, using sports as a vehicle for personal growth and unity.
Looking ahead, the Executive Chairman reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to continued youth development, athlete welfare, and innovation in sports administration, calling for collective efforts from all stakeholders to further strengthen the state’s sports ecosystem.
Mogaji also praised the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kwara State Chapter, for its consistent role in publicising sports activities and amplifying the achievements of athletes and sports stakeholders in the state, noting that their sacrifices and professionalism have not gone unnoticed.
He expressed appreciation to all stakeholders who have contributed to the growth of sports in Kwara State and urged them to sustain the momentum in driving excellence.
The event formed part of activities reviewing six years of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s impactful leadership in the sports sector.
