The Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly and APC Governorship Candidate, Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of a prominent Kwara-born activist and labour leader, Comrade Saliu Berkindo Bolakale.
Danladi-Salihu, in a condolence message, described the death of Comrade Bolakale, popularly known as CB among his admirers, as a rude shock and a great loss to Kwara State.
Until his death, Comrade Bolakale was a prominent member of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR) and a staff member of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
The Speaker described the deceased as a great leader who distinguished himself through his charismatic leadership qualities, commitment to humanity and contributions to the development of society.
According to him, the passing of Comrade Bolakale represents a colossal loss to the state and a depletion of the ranks of emerging young leaders in Kwara.
“I have lost a brother and a friend. His death is deeply painful and has left a huge void that will be difficult to fill,” the Speaker said.
Danladi-Salihu prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings, grant him eternal mercy and admit him into Aljannatul Firdaus.
He also prayed Allah to grant the family, friends, colleagues and associates of Comrade Bolakale the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
