The Kwara Kiddies League has officially announced the commencement of its highly anticipated 2026 Season Playoff, setting the stage for a fiercely competitive battle among emerging football academies seeking promotion into the main league.
A total of 10 teams have successfully registered for the playoff tournament, with only three promotion slots available to join the 11 teams already confirmed for the 2026 Kwara Kiddies League proper.
The registered teams are: House of Prayer FA, ABS Ilorin FC, Solicitor FA, Gaa Akanbi FA, Optimist FA, Vanguard FA Ogbomoso, Futuristic FA, IBS FA, Honeyking FA, and Prince Bravo FA.
The league has scheduled a mandatory screening exercise for Saturday, April 11, 2026, to ensure all participating teams meet eligibility and registration standards, while the playoff matches will kick off on Sunday, April 12, 2026.
Speaking on the playoff, Adewale Adeyemi, Head of Strategy for the league, emphasized the importance of the tournament as a pathway for structured youth football development.
“The playoff represents a critical stage in our football ecosystem—one that ensures only prepared and compliant teams gain entry into the league. It reflects our commitment to raising standards while creating meaningful opportunities for young talents,” he stated.
In further efforts to professionalize the competition, the Kwara Kiddies League has directed all clubs to comply with enhanced licensing requirements, aimed at improving club administration, safeguarding players, and aligning operations with global best practices.
