Kwara State para table tennis team has recorded a successful outing at the National Para Games Abuja 2026, finishing with a total of 15 medals.
The team secured two gold, four silver, and nine bronze medals, underlining a strong and consistent performance throughout the competition.
Today, 1st of April 2026, speaking at the end of the event, the Head Coach, Coach Abdulkadir Abdulkadir popularly known as Romeo, expressed appreciation to the Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for creating an enabling environment for physically challenged athletes to excel.
Coach Romeo described the government’s support as a key factor behind the team’s impressive performance, noting that it boosted the confidence and morale of the players.
He also commended the leadership of the commission led by the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bolakale Adisa Mogaji for his unwavering support and motivation, adding that the conducive atmosphere during both open and closed camping contributed significantly to the team’s success.
The coach further appreciated the Director of Sports, Alhaji Hamidu Olowo, management staff, and the media team for their dedication and consistent support throughout the tournament.
