Kwara Sports Commission Concludes Judo Schools Sensitization Programme with Grand Finale in Ilorin

The Kwara State Sports Commission under the leadership of Coach Bolakale Adisa Mogaji has successfully concluded the Judo Schools Sensitization Programme with a thrilling grand finale held at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Stadium Complex, Ilorin.
The event featured the final bouts of the Judo Championship, bringing together talented young athletes from different schools across the state who earlier qualified from the preliminary rounds held in Asa Local Government Area.
The successful transition from the preliminary stage to the grand finale further highlighted the commitment of the Mogaji-led administration towards discovering, nurturing, and developing sporting talents from the grassroots to elite levels.
Beyond competition, the championship also served as a strategic platform aimed at promoting judo among school-aged children, encouraging discipline, self-confidence, and active participation in sports across Kwara State.
The initiative aligns with the broader vision of the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Coach Bolakale Adisa Mogaji, whose administration has consistently prioritized grassroots sports development and youth engagement through various sporting programmes and sensitization campaigns.
The Commission also appreciated the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for his unwavering support and commitment towards youth empowerment and sports development in the state.
The event witnessed the presence of top sports officials and stakeholders, including the Director of Sports, Head of Coaches, Head of Department (School Sports), Head of Department (Organizing), alongside other dignitaries who graced the occasion in support of the initiative.
According to a statement released by the Press Secretary of the Kwara State Sports Commission today, 22nd of May 2026, Mustapha Taofiq Olayiwola, the Commission remains committed to expanding grassroots sports programmes capable of positively impacting young talents across the state.
