Squash: Coach Bilikis Mogaji, Six Kwara Players Earn National Call-Up Ahead of Canada 2026

Kwara State has recorded another major breakthrough in its growing sporting profile as Coach Bilikis Akanke Mogaji and six junior athletes from the state have been invited by the Nigeria Squash Federation to the National Camp Trials ahead of the forthcoming World Junior Squash Championship in Canada.
According to the federation, the Phase Two National Camp, scheduled to hold from 30 April to 14 May 2026 at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, will bring together some of Nigeria’s brightest young squash talents for final selection and intensive preparation for the international championship.
The six Kwara athletes invited to the national camp are Shuaib Giwa, Ibrahim Abdulazeez, Monstural Durosinlohun, Khadijat Abdulraheem, Haisat Abdulraheem, and Loveth Balogun, all of whom have distinguished themselves through consistent performances and dedication to the sport.
Coach Mogaji’s invitation to serve among the national coaches has been widely viewed as a strong endorsement of her technical ability and commitment to athlete development, while the inclusion of six junior players from the state further underlines Kwara’s rising status as a centre for squash excellence in Nigeria.
The latest achievement has also been linked to the continued investment of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in sports development, youth empowerment, and grassroots talent discovery across the state.
Stakeholders within the Kwara State Sports Commission have described the national recognition as a reflection of the visionary leadership of the Executive Chairman, Coach Bolakale Adisa Mogaji, whose administration has continued to reposition sports in the state for greater national and international relevance.
